New Delhi: In his 41st edition of “Mann ki Baat”, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday has praised the women’s participation in the development of the country. Addressing the nation through his monthly radio programme, the PM said, “India is heading towards women-led development from only women development. We are discussing development under the leadership of women.”
He also shared the thought of the spiritual leader Swami Vivekananda, “The Idea of perfect Womanhood is Perfect Independence” and said that Swami’s thoughts “hundred years ago is a reflection of Nari Shakti in Indian culture”. He further ensured that women have an equal participation in every sector of the social and economic life in their duty.
Through his radio programme, the PM further urged the women to create self-help groups for the “Gobar Dhan Yojana” as it may become a source of income for the rural population. Meanwhile, underscoring the benefits of the green energy, PM said, “This time, in the budget, emphasis was laid on ‘Waste to Wealth’ and ‘Waste to Energy’ through biogas for villages under Swachh Bharat. Initiative named ‘GOBAR-Dhan’- Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agro Resources has been rolled out. The purpose of ‘GOBAR-Dhan’ is to ensure cleanliness in the villages by converting animal dung and garbage into compost. This will not only generate revenue but also clean energy.”
He also appreciated Chhattisgarh government for celebrating its first ‘Trash Mahotsav’ festival. The festival has aimed to utilize waste creativity and to spread awareness about various ways of re-using garbage.
The PM also wished the countrymen for the Holi. He said, “Along with colours, Holi ka Dahan is equally important. Holi is a festival of harmony and togetherness. It is a day to set ablaze all evils, along with Holi Dahan. Holi is a festival of Harmony and togetherness, to enjoy together and ignoring all differences.”
