Desk: Soon after West Bengal was hit by heavy rain, Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) were hit by a heavy storm and rain. As a result, there was a sudden change in the weather as strong wind along with dust and rain lashed the city.
The flight movements at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport have been delayed. Vistara’s Srinagar flight to Delhi has been diverted to Amritsar.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s programme in Delhi’s IP Extension was also cancelled.
The IMD had predicted on Saturday that the hill-states might witness thunderstorm along with squall over the next 48 hours.
Several states in north India have witnessed erratic weather pattern over the fortnight. Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan have alone witnessed over 120 deaths due to thunderstorm and violent winds in the first week of May.
