Kolkata: As per usual tradition, this year the too Kalpataru festival is been celebrated in the Dakshineswar and Cossipore Udyanbati complex. Devotees from in as well as outside the state have gathered at Dakshineswar temple complex on the occasion of Kalpataru festival, which is celebrated every year on January 1.

Reportedly, the devotees started pouring in from midnight to worship Maa Bhabatarini. The festival celebrates the metamorphosis of spiritual guru Sri Ramkrishna Paramhansa dev into a magical tree. It is believed that in the year 1886, on this auspicious day, Sri Ramkrishna blessed his disciples and said that all their wishes would be granted on this day.
