District Correspondent, Ranaghat: 2 missile type bombs have been recovered during a pond restoration at Hanskhali in Nadia on Monday. As per sources, a pond restoration work was continuing for some days at Chupria in Hanskhali and the bombs were recovered when the soil are dug during the process. The bombs reportedly weigh almost 100 kilos each and 6 feet long.
Meanwhile, the recovery of the bombs sparked sensation in the area. The police went to the spot and collected the bombs after getting the information regarding the incident. Uncertainty hovers around the exact date and time of the making of the bombs. Those are expected to be examined by the Bomb squad members of the Indian Army. However, the locals are assuming that the bombs were dropped from the aircraft during the World War II. The Hanskhali police are investigating the matter.
