Sridevi’s Death Case Closed, Says Dubai Police



Mumbai: After a lot of speculations over the sudden death of the Bollywood diva Sridevi at the age of 54, the Dubai police clearly informed that the death case of the veteran actor has been closed. Her mortal remain has left the embalming unit and it is on the way to the Dubai airport.

As per the sources, a chartered flight belongs to Anil Ambani is scheduled to take off Dubai airport at 6.30 pm IST. The flight is expected to land in Mumbai around 9.30 pm. After that Sridevi will be kept in the Celebrity Sports Club for 3 hours to pay the last tribute to the ‘Queen of the Heart’.

The Consul General of India, Vipul said that the Dubai Public Prosecution stresses that all regular procedures about this case have been completed. He also added that the Gulf police has handed over the release letter of Sridevi’s mortal remain to her family members so they can proceed for bringing the body to the India. As per the forensic report, the cause of death is an ‘accidental drowning following loss of consciousness’.

On the other hand, like the other family members, Sridevi’s step son Arjun Kapoor flies to the Gulf country on Tuesday morning to be with his father at the hotel while the formalities are being wrapped up. He will also oversee the return journey.

Earlier on Sunday, a spokesman of Boney Kapoor informed the media that the body will be flown on Monday but later a statement said that it will be brought back to India on Tuesday as the investigation was going on. The Dubai police cross checked the call logs and questioned hotel staffs.

Meanwhile, earlier on 24 February, Sridevi was found unconcious in the bathroom of the Emirates Towers room by her husband, Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor. The family was in Dubai to celebrate the marriage of Kapoor’s nephew Mohit Marwah.
